Whether you are taking on a new DIY project, repainting your entire house, or want to work on your garden and lawn, you might want a little help saving money when you go to the store to get started.  Here are several places to find military discounts for home and garden.

Home Improvement Discounts

Home Depot Military Discount

Home Depot offers a 10% discount on regularly priced items for in-store and online purchases. You would need to sign up for a new account through the Home Depot app. Note that there is a $400 maximum annual discount per year.

Lowe’s Military Discount

Members of the military community enjoy a daily 10% discount at Lowe’s. A MyLowe’s account is required, but the discount is available in-store and online. You would give them your phone number at check out or it will be applied to your online order.


At Sherwin-Williams, the paint store, you can find a military discount of 15% off of paints, stains, and painting supplies.

Costco Military Discount

Costco, similar to Sam’s Club, Costco offers you a $20 gift card when you sign up.

Frigidaire Military Discount 

Need to replace a part of your fridge? Frigidaire offers 25% off all parts, accessories, and filters. This discount doesn’t apply to appliances. You can also receive 25% off the first order of their water filter subscription. You would receive a one-time use promotion code and be verified through Sheer ID.

Joann Military Discount

At Joann stores, you can also find items for your home as well as crafts. They offer 15% off as a military discount. You would need to sign up for their discount online.

Kirkland’s Home Military Discount

Kirkland’s Home offers a military discount of 10% to all active and retired military with a military ID. You should be able to use their discount with their promotions giving you quite a good deal.

Michaels Military Discount 

At Michaels, you can find items for your home from crafts to canvas wall hangings. They offer a 15% discount. Sign up with their Michaels Rewards Program and use it online and in-store.

Overstock Military Discount 

Overstock is an online retailer that focuses on furniture for your home. You can sign up for Club O, which is free to active military and veterans, and normally $19.95. You would verify with ID.me.

Sam’s Club Military Discount

Sam’s Club offers many items for the home from furniture to decorations. You can get $10 off your first purchase when you sign up for a new account.

Find indoor plants, plant subscriptions, herbs, tropical plants, pots, accessories, and more at Lively Root. They have a 15% military discount through GovX.

Patio and Pizza Outdoor Furnishings 

At Patio Pizza Outdoor Furnishings you can find pizza ovens, fire pits, fireplaces, and other outdoor living items. They offer 5% off with GovX to active duty, veterans, and retired military personnel.
