Military Freebies: Free Stuff for Military, Veterans, and Their Families
Military members and their families learn very quickly that some organizations like to honor the armed services by providing military discounts. With so many discounts offered to the military community, we wanted to see if there were any freebies out there for military members; here is what we found:
Entertainment & Travel Freebies for Military and Veterans
9/11 Memorial Museum
The 9/11 Memorial Museum offers free admission to active-duty military, retirees, and 9/11 family members. Tickets can be purchased up to 6 months in advance and provide access to all exhibitions. Visit the 9/11 Memorial Museum website for details.
America the Beautiful Passes Program
Through the America the Beautiful Passes Program, military members and their dependents can receive a free annual pass. Includes National Guard and Reserve as well. You must obtain a pass in person at a federal recreation site by showing your military or dependent ID. Find a federal recreation site near you.
Gold star families and veterans are also eligible for a free lifetime pass now, too.
Blue Star Theatres

Blue Star Theatres’ goal is to connect theatre offerings to military personnel across the United States. Each Blue Star Theatre participating in the program offers discounted or complimentary admission to all military personnel, veterans, and their families. You can visit an interactive map on their website to check participating locations near you.

George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum
The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum offers free admission for Active Duty Military. Retired Military get a discounted admissions rate of $10. Visit the George W. Bush Presidential Library website for more details.
Vet Tix
Vet Tix provides tickets to military members who are currently serving, veterans, and their immediate family. They offer tickets to sporting events, concerts, performing arts, educational, and family activities across the nation. You can sign-up online, and military verification is required. You may have to pay a small shipping fee.
Waves of Honor
The Waves of Honor Program gives military members and up to 3 direct dependents one complimentary admission per year to SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, or Sesame Place. You must have a valid Active Duty military ID to be eligible. The Waves of Honor Program verifies eligibility through id.me. The offer also includes free parking.
Deployment Services Freebies For Military
Build a Sign
Build as Sign offers free customizable banners to families welcoming home a deployed military member. No validation is required. You will have to pay for shipping. For further details, visit their website.
GreenCare for Troops
GreenCare for Troops provides complimentary lawn and landscape services for deployed active duty military members, E-6 and below. They serve all military branches, and it is a needs-based program. To register, you will need deployment orders. Visit their website for more details. They also have snow removal services through SnowCare for Troops.
Education & Finance Military Freebies
SaveAndInvest.org
SaveAndInvest.org offers a free credit score and analysis tool for active-duty service members. The program offers free access to your FICO credit score. You can access the program through the installation’s Personal Financial Management Program (PFMP), which is usually found at the Airman & Family Readiness Center, Army Community Service, Fleet & Family Support Center, or Marine Corps Community Services.
Tutor.com
The Department of Defense offers free access to homework and online tutoring through Tutor.com. Students in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard, Reserves,
Wounded Warriors and deployed DoD civilian families are eligible.
Lifestyle Freebies for Military
Brides Across America
Brides Across America gives military or first responder brides a free wedding gown during an “Operation Wedding Gown Event.” Events are typically held in July and November. If you or your fiancé were on active duty or are a veteran within the past five years, you qualify. Visit their website to view more qualification details, register, and find participating bridal shops near you.
USO and What to Expect Foundation
The USO and What to Expect Foundation host free baby showers for expectant military mothers worldwide. Visit their website to check dates and locations.
