American Girl is an American line of 18-inch dolls, started by Pleasant Rowland, who was a schoolteacher and children’s publisher and writer. She was inspired after taking a trip to Colonial Williamsburg. She started the Pleasant company in 1986 with her line of dolls. They came from different periods of history and from different ethnicities.

What is the American Girl Military Discount?

The American Girl military discount is for 15% off of their products at all American Girl retail locations. The discount is not valid on online or catalog sales as well as on a few other items.

They also have a relationship with NEX, which sells a curated assortment of the products at approximately 13 NEX locations throughout the US and internationally. You can also find WellieWishers products through select AAFES and MCX locations.

About American Girl

Today, American Girl has 11 characters from the years 1754-1974. In addition to the historical dolls, you can even find dolls from contemporary times or find a doll that looks like you or your child. In 1998, the Pleasant Company was sold to Mattel and renamed American Girl. The line also has clothing to match the dolls as well as a variety of accessories.

The first store was opened in Chicago in 1998, with one in New York City, and Los Angeles opening soon after. Today, they also have stores in Atlanta, Charlotte, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Hershey, Houston, Kansas City, Miami, Nashville, Orlando, San Francisco, Scottsdale, Seattle, Washington DC, as well as Canada and the Middle East. Their headquarters are in Middleton, Wisconsin. They do have a 15% military discount at their stores.
