Who’s Eligible?

Members of the military are eligible for the possible military discount at participating locations. Students, educators, and other qualifying groups may need to show valid ID qualify for student discounts

About Best Buy

Best Buy started when Richard Schulze and his business partner opened the store The Sound of Music in St. Paul, MN, in 1966. In 1974, they moved to a new headquarters in Bloomington, MN, and in 1978, they opened nine stores.

In 1983, the company changed its name to Best Buy and opened its first superstore. In 2000, it launched its website, and in 2001, it became international when it bought the Canada-based Future Shop.

In 2002, Best Buy joined forces with Geek Squad and opened eight stores in Canada. As of 2022, Best Buy has 1,144 locations in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. You can find Best Buys in all 50 US states. Their headquarters are in Richfield, MN.
