May is National Military Appreciation Month and includes Memorial Day weekend. We’ve compiled a list of organizations and companies honoring the military community during this month.

For civilians, Memorial Day is the beginning of Summer. However, that day means something else to the military community. Memorial Day isn’t a day to thank veterans but to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Oftentimes, businesses will do something on Memorial Day to honor the military and give something back. While we know and remember the ultimate sacrifice, we appreciate those who offer a discount or a free meal, showing that they remember and care about the military community.

Military Discounts on Clothing & Shoes

Crocs

Military members can enjoy 25% off their entire order on Crocs.com.

Havaianas

Military heroes once enjoyed 20% off their purchase at Havaianas. Details of that discount could not be located on the official site at press time.

J.Crew

Military can get 15% off purchases at jcrew.com when they verify online.

L.L. Bean

As a thank you for their service to our country, past and current military service members receive 10% off their purchases at L.L.Bean.

Lady Foot Locker

Lady Foot Locker sells shoes and other accessories. They offer 10% off most purchases for their military discount. Active Duty, Veterans, National Guard, Reservists, and Registered Dependents of Active Duty or Retiree Service Members all qualify.

You must be verified through SheerID. When you are checking out you would need to follow the military discount link. You may be asked to upload documents. You will be verified as soon as possible and they will contact you to apply the discount or give you a refund.

Quiksilver

As a thank you for their service, military members can receive 15% off.

Red Kap

As a thank you for their service, active, veteran, retired, and reservist U.S. military personnel can enjoy a 20% discount on all workwear.

Roxy

Roxy is a women’s clothing store that offers a 15% military discount for online purchases only. Exclusions do apply, such as for GoPros. Active duty, reserves, national guard, veterans, retirees, and their spouses or dependents qualify. You must be verified with SheerID.

Sword & Plough

Sword & Plough sells jewelry, bags, and more and offers 20% off all orders for their military discount. They offer the discount to US active duty, national guard, reserves, veterans, retirees, spouses, and Gold Star families. You would need to be verified online either automatically or manually.

Vineyard Vines

Vineyard Vines is an American clothing and accessory retailer. They offer varying discounts (based on the product) a military discount for military members. Show your military ID or be verified online.

VIVAIA

As a thank you for their work and service, military members can enjoy an exclusive 20% off discount for qualifying shoppers.

Cruise Lines with Military Discounts

Holland America Line

Active and retired military personnel can enjoy $100 stateroom credits to be used on any of 500+ Holland America Line itineraries across the world.

Princess Cruises

Active, retired, and disabled military personnel can receive up to $250 of free onboard spending money on any cruise, any time of the year.

American Standard Brands

Ashley Furniture Industries

Veterans and Active Military receive 5% off online shopping at Ashley Furniture.

GAF

Active military members and veterans get a $250 rebate when installing a qualifying GAF roofing system and purchasing an enhanced warranty.

Sherwin-Williams

Sherwin-Williams is a paint store. They offer a 15% off as a military discount on paints, stains, and painting supplies. The discount is open to those currently serving military, reservists, or those who have served, as well as their spouses. You would need to show your military ID at the store.

Military Discounts on Mattresses

DreamCloud

Active, veteran, and reservist U.S. military personnel and their families can enjoy “an extra 5% off” the company’s best price online.

NectarSleep

Active, veteran, and reservist U.S. military personnel, and their families can enjoy an extra 5% discount on the “best price” available on NectarSleep.

Purple

Military members looking to upgrade to better, deeper sleep can get 5% off all Purple products, including sale items from Purple.com.

Sleep Number

As a thank you for their service, military members can receive an exclusive 5% to 10% off select “smart beds and bases.” Visit sleepnumber.com/heroes to learn more and get your code.

News and Newspapers with Military Discounts

Paramount Plus

Paramount Plus offers 25% off for qualifying military customers. You must verify using SheerID.

USA Today

Military service members receive a USA Today Digital All Access subscription for $1 for 6 months.

Travel Discounts for Military

Colonial Williamsburg

Colonial Williamsburg is a fun historical experience for your entire family, with hands-on activities to guided tours of original 18th-century buildings, and more in Williamsburg, Virginia.

They are a part of the Blue Star Museum program and offer one single-day museum ticket for active duty personnel and up to five family members to the Arts Museums of Colonial Williamsburg. You can get 25% off single-day admission tickets or 25% off the purchase of Annual Passes.

Schlitterbahn Waterpark

Schlitterbahn Waterpark is a family waterpark located in Galveston Island, Texas, South Padre Island, Texas, New Braunfels, Texas, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Kansas City, Kansas. Memorial Day is free admission day for military and family members, but there are also discounts for those with military ID offered year round.

Vail Resorts

Active and retired military and their dependents can purchase an Epic Military Pass with special military pricing which has in the past provided unlimited, unrestricted access to 42 resorts – including Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Park City, Whistler Blackcomb, and Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis. Logan’s Roadhouse

This restaurant has traditionally offered a free meal for qualifying vets on Memorial Day. At press time there is no mention of a military discount on the official site.

Logan’s Roadhouse is a steakhouse and on Memorial Day from 3 pm to 6 pm, active duty and veterans can receive a free meal. This offer is not valid in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Augusta, Georgia.

McCormick & Schmicks

They do not appear to have a military-specific discount in 2024.

McCormick & Schmicks offers seafood and steaks. They have offered a 10% off discount on Memorial Day to US military members, veterans, nurses, doctors, and first responders in the past.

Mission BBQ

They haven’t yet announced anything for 2024. Mission BBQ typically has an Armed Forces Week with Military Appreciation Days:

Rubio’s Coastal Grill

Rubio’s Coastal Grill is a grill and restaurant that previously offered military and veteran members a coupon for one free entrée with the purchase of any adult entrée of equal or greater value.

This offer is valid at participating restaurants. Simply present the coupon and your military ID. Active duty, reserves, national guard, retired military, veterans, or others with proof of military affiliation qualify.

The entrees that are included are the two taco plates, burritos, salads, bowls, and the Coastal Trio. This offer is for dine-in only.

Miscellaneous Discounts for Military

Academy Sports

10% off from May 1- July 4th

Academy Sports is a sporting goods store. They are offering a 10% military discount through Jun3 6 2024.

You must verify your military affiliation through ID.me for online purchases or show your military ID when shopping in person. The discount is not valid on certain products.

Dunlop Sports Americas

Active military members and veterans can enjoy a discount of 15% off qualifying full-priced Srixon and Cleveland Golf products available through online stores.

Leatherman

Veterans and active military service men and women can enjoy 30% off multi-tools as a thank-you for their service.

Thule, Inc.

Military members can enjoy military discounts off their entire purchase at Thule, but if you registered in 2023, you must re-register to claim new discounts.

Walgreens / Duane Reade

On Memorial Day, Walgreens and Duane Reade offer a special discount for veterans, active-duty military personnel, and qualifying family members. The special runs from May 24 through May 27 in 2024. You need a myWalgreens® membership and valid military ID or proof of service to receive 20 percent off regularly priced products at any Walgreens or Duane Reade drugstore nationwide. Exclusions and restrictions may apply.
