Big Lots Year-Round Military Discount

Big Lots has a year-round military discount of 10% for active military personnel and veterans.  It is available at all of their stores nationwide.

In order to take advantage of the discount, you need to join the company’s Big Rewards Program.

Additional Benefits of the Big Lots Rewards Program

In addition to the year-round discount, this exclusive rewards program offers the following benefits:

3 Purchases = $5 Reward

You can earn $5 for every 3 purchases you make in-store or online. You can earn one purchase per day, per store. There are some exclusions like the purchase of gift cards and rentals.

Furniture Bonus

You can earn up to a $50 reward on the next indoor or outdoor furniture purchase. Keep in mind that there is a minimum purchase amount ($200+), and the reward is tiered. So to get the $50 reward, you will need to spend $1,000 or more on a single qualifying purchase.

VIP Shopping Days

You can enjoy savings of 20% off during these member-only Friends and Family VIP shopping days.

Birthday Surprise

If you provide your birthday information, you will receive an email containing details about the surprise. Since they are amusingly hush-hush about the secret gift, but they’re emailing it to you, it is likely a coupon with a hefty one-time discount.

Worth Noting About Big Lots

You Can Stack with Other Rewards and Coupons

One thing that is worth noting is that the discount offered through the Big Rewards Program can be combined with other rewards and coupons. When stacked together, that can lead to some great savings. Online orders are limited to 2 rewards discounts for online purchases.

Free Delivery

Free standard delivery is available for orders over $59, and they offer a free pick-up in-store option.

One noticeable drawback to the BIG Rewards program is that the rewards earned from it are only valid for 17 days from the date they are loaded onto your account. The time to redeem regular rewards is roughly 21 days.  The idea behind making rewards hold an expiry is to prompt the consumer to keep shopping. It is a business, after all, and repeat customers keep businesses alive.

So, if you haven’t already, be sure to take advantage of this discount opportunity. Remember, the discount is applied to online orders as well, so you don’t have to be close to a Big Lots in order to participate.
