Cruise Line Discounts for Military and Veterans

Taking a cruise anytime soon? Make sure to check out these military discounts on cruise lines before you book your next trip. You should be able to save a little bit of money that way.

Margaritaville at Sea

Margaritaville at Sea has partnered with Govx.com to offer a Heroes Sail Free complimentary cruise to the Bahamas for members of the military, both active and veteran, first responders, law enforcement officers, and educators. Margaritaville at Sea features gourmet food and beverages, pools, retail stores, and more.

You must be a verified member through the GOVX ID or ShopVCS platform and up to two qualified members per stateroom. This offer does not include taxes, fees, or gratuities. One sailing per member per year. Some blackout dates may apply. See the official site for current terms and conditions, as offers are subject to change.

According to the official site, the program “includes Free Cruises for 2 on ALL dates, ALL destinations, and ALL ships! Plus, Heroes save an extra 20% off all retail offers, so you always sail the best prices—any time, any cabin, and all year long” but be sure to double check before booking that the terms and conditions are what you expect.

Carnival

Carnival offers cruises to Alaska, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, New England, the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, Mexico, the Panama Canal, Transatlantic, and Transpacific. Carnival offer military fares for depending on stateroom type, departure port, or destination. This discount is for active and retired US military as well as Canadian National Defense members.

According to the Carnival official site, “Once booked, eligibility documents must be submitted to Carnival for confirmed reservations within 72 hours for cruises outside one week prior to sailing and 24 hours for cruises within one week prior to sailing.”

Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity Cruises offers all military members, active and retired, a certain amount off per person. You may receive:

  • $25 off an inside or ocean view
  • $100 off veranda, concierge class, aqua class, and suite class

Celebrity Cruises has in the past offered destinations to Alaska, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, the Caribbean, Dubai India, Europe, Galapagos, Hawaii, Pacific Coastal, the Panama Canal, South America, Transatlantic, and Transpacific. Check the official site for the most current destinations and military travel deals.

Disney Cruises

Disney offers a special military rate on certain cruises. Disney offers a discount on one stateroom per military member. The discount is for all retired and active US military and their spouses, including the National Guard and Reserves. Show your ID at the time of check-in.

MSC Cruises

MSC Cruises offers destinations including the Caribbean and the Antilles, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and India, South America, South Africa, Canada and New England, Asia, and Worldwide.

MSC Cruises offers up to 10% savings on their cruises. The discount is available to active and retired US and Canadian military personnel, plus family members, including spouses, parents, in-laws, and children.

The discount can be applied to multiple staterooms, and they offer zero penalties if you have to cancel because of a deployment.

Norwegian Cruise Line 

Norwegian goes to many locations such as Asia, Africa, Alaska, Australia and New Zealand, Canada and New England, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Mexico, and Northern Europe. They also have transatlantic and weekend cruises.

Norwegian Cruise Line has a Military Appreciation Program where you can save 10% off qualifying cruise fares. This military discount is for active duty military, reserves, the National Guard, and veterans. To claim, register for My NCL account and verify with ID.me.

Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises offers trips to Alaska, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, California and the Pacific Coast, Canada and New England, the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, Japan, Mexico, the Panama Canal, South America and Antarctica, Tahiti and the South Pacific, as well as offering world cruises.

Princess Cruises offers up to $250 in “onboard spending money” which is a form of onboard credit. This offer is for veterans as well as those who are active, retired, or disabled military personnel.

Cruise length may determine the level of discount.

In the past, patrons could not use the credit at the casino. Check the current guidelines to learn what may apply to your cruise.

Claim your military discount no later than 14 days before your cruise departure date; download the application and submit the form. The onboard spending money will then be applied to your account.

Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean offers cruises to Alaska, the Arabian Gulf, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Canada and New England, the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, the Pacific Northwest, the Panama Canal, the South Pacific, Transatlantic, and Transpacific.

Royal Caribbean offers a military rate, open to active duty military in the US and Canada, as well as retired military, veterans with an honorable discharge with qualifying service. Spouses can also book one stateroom as long as the eligible spouse is occupying the stateroom. Spouses of deceased military are also eligible.

USAA Travel Deals
