Military Discounts On Museums Around the US
Whether you are going to a history museum, science museum, or military related museum, it is always nice to find a military discount. Check out these museums that offer a bit of savings to the military community.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame offers military discounts for online ticket purchases. Tickets must be purchased for “time slots” and there’s a limit to how many tickets are offered for each slot. The official site advises tickets “do not correspond to a specific timed tour, as the Rock Hall is a self-guided experience. Once in the museum, you are permitted to tour until we close.”
9/11 Memorial and Museum
The 9/11 Memorial and Museum, honoring those we lost on 9/11, is in New York City, NY. It offers free admission to active and retired military personnel.
Blue Star Museums
Blue Star Museums is a program from the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums nationwide. With the program, between Armed Forces Day to Labor Day, active duty personnel, including the National Guard and Reserves, and their families receive free admission to over 2,000 museums nationwide.
Boston’s Children’s Museum
At the Boston Children’s Museum in Boston, MA, you can find exhibits such as raceways, an art lab, forts, a STEAM lab, a construction zone, and more. Active duty personnel and veterans receive complimentary admission. Show your military ID.
Country Music Hall of Fame
At the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN you can find information all about country music and the history of country music. They offer a military discount for active duty and veterans with ID. Purchase at the Museum Box Office.
Kennedy Space Center
The Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island, FL offers a tour of the history of space exploration from the beginning to current ongoing missions. They have Military 1-2 day tickets offering a discount on adult and child admission. Verify with ID.me or show proof of service.
The National WWII Museum
The National WWII Museum in New Orleans, LA, has exhibits such as Finding Hope in a World Destroyed, Forces of Freedom At Home and Abroad, and the Arsenal of Democracy. They offer military discounts for military with ID. At press time the military discount was $10 cheaper than regular admission.
Perot Museum of Nature and Science
The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is located in Dallas, TX. It has exhibits such as T. Rex: the Ultimate Predator, Expanding Universe, and Being Human. The museum offers free admission for members of the military and a $3 discount for their families, up to seven people.
USS Midway Museum
The USS Midway Museum is located in San Diego, CA. The museum is on the USS Midway and will explore the 47-year history of the ship through a variety of exhibits both on the upper and lower decks. The Midway Museum offers free admission to qualifying veterans and military members.
Virginia Living Museum
The Virginia Living Museum in Newport News, VA, offers living exhibits, discovery centers, and interactive hands-on exhibits depicting Virginia’s national heritage. The museum offers $15 off their general membership as a military discount.
