Military Discounts On Museums Around the US
Planning a day trip? Check out these museums that all have a military discount!
Whether you are going to a history museum, science museum, or military related museum, it is always nice to find a military discount. Check out these museums that offer a bit of savings to the military community.
The 9/11 Memorial and Museum honoring those we have lost on 9/11 in New York City, NY offers active and retired military free admission. You can also get in free on Mondays from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The Memorial section is also free to the public 7 days a week.
Blue Star Museums is a program from the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums nationwide. With the program, between Armed Forces Day to Labor Day, active duty personnel, including the National Guard and Reserves, and their families receive free admission to over 2,000 museums nationwide.
At the Boston Children’s Museum in Boston, MA, you can find exhibits such as raceways, an art lab, forts, a STEAM lab, a construction zone, and more. Active duty personnel and veterans receive complimentary admission. Show your military ID.
At the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN you can find information all about country music and the history of country music. They offer a military discount for active duty and veterans with ID. Purchase at the Museum Box Office.
The Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island, FL offers a tour of the history of space exploration from the beginning to current ongoing missions. They have Military 1-2 day tickets offering a discount on adult and child admission. You would need to verify with ID.me or show proof of service.
The National WWII Museum in New Orleans, LA, has exhibits such as Finding Hope in a World Destroyed, Forces of Freedom At Home and Abroad, and the Arsenal of Democracy. They offer an over 30% military discount for military with ID.
The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is located in Dallas, TX. The Museum has exhibits such as T.Rex: the Ultimate Predator, Expanding Universe, and Being Human. They offer free admission for members of the military and a $3 discount for their families, up to seven people.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not is a museum filled with oddities. You can find all types of interesting and weird exhibits. There are 28 museums around the country and most of them offer a military discount. For example, at the one in Orlando, you can save 25%, and at the one in Hollywood, you can save 30%. The USS Midway Museum is located in San Diego, CA. The museum is on the USS Midway and will explore the 47-year history of the ship through a variety of exhibits both on the upper and lower decks. They offer a $10 military discount to veterans.
The Virginia Living Museum in Newport News, VA, offers living exhibits, discovery centers, and interactive hands-on exhibits depicting Virginia’s national heritage. They offer $15 off their general membership as a military discount.
