About The Montgomery Zoo
The Montgomery Zoo is home to around 750 animals representing 140 species. The zoo began as a small menagerie in 1920 in Oak Park in the Oak Park neighborhood. It initially started as a small children’s zoo as part of a local community park. It expanded in 1991. The zoo is divided into continental realms.
