About Red Lion Hotels
Red Lion Hotels started as a property management and commercial development company that was founded in Spokane, Washington in 1937 under the name Goodale and Barbieri. In 1976 they acquired the River Inn in Spokane, launching into the hotel business. In 2001, they acquired the Red Lion and Inns brands from Hilton Hotels. In 2005, they created the Red Lion Hotels Corporation name. They have acquired many other hotels since with the most recent being Knights Inn in 2018. Now, they have the Hotel RL, Red Lion Hotels, Red Lion Inn & Suites, Settle Inn Extended State, Signature Guest House Inn & Suites, America’s Best Value Inn, Canada’s Best Value Inn, Country Hearth Inn & Suites, and Knights Inn brands. As of 2018, they have 1,400 properties with the Red Lion Hotel having 53 hotels. The company’s headquarters is in Denver, Colorado.
