If you’re coming onto the installation for the first time, enter through the Van Deman Gate. Staffers can point you to your unit, answer general questions about the installation, and provide a map to help you get your bearings.

Where you check in next depends on when you show up. During regular duty hours, you’ll go straight to your gaining unit. Officers sign in at their assigned organization, and enlisted Soldiers report to their battalion, or brigade S-1. If you arrive outside of duty hours, the Welcome Center can stamp your orders and help you secure temporary lodging so you’re not stuck waiting until morning.
