About Goodyear Tires

Goodyear Tire opened its first factory in Akron, OH in 1898. They originally manufactured bicycle and carriage tires, rubber horseshoe pads, and poker chips. In 1901, Goodyear’s founder, Frank Seiberling provided Henry Ford with racing tires and by 1908, Ford was outfitting his Model T with Goodyear tires. In 1909, Goodyear manufactured the first aircraft tires. By 1926, Goodyear was the largest rubber company in the world. They had a major restructuring in 1991, and you can now find Goodyear Tire, in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Washington DC, and in over 50 countries worldwide.
