About 24-Hour Fitness
24-Hour Fitness is the world’s 2nd largest fitness chain based on memberships. They were founded in 1983 by Mark Mastrov. He bought out the owner of a gym, after attending rehab after a knee injury. The chain was originally called, 24-Hour Nautilus.
In 1996, 24-Hour Nautilus, 24-Hour Family Fitness Centers, and Gold’s Gym of Hawaii combined to become 24-Hour Fitness. They also worked with NBC on their Biggest Loser reality show. Today, there are 420 clubs in 13 US states. They do offer a military discount and their headquarters is in San Ramon, California.
