More About Red Robin

Red Robin serves gourmet burgers, brews, and more in their casual dining restaurants. They were founded in 1969, in Seattle, WA. The original Red Robin building is from 1940. It was first called Sam’s Tavern. The owner changed the name to Sam’s Red Robin based on a song. In 1969, a local Seattle restaurant entrepreneur Herry Kingen bought and expanded the business. They dropped the name, “Sam’s” and became Red Robin. In 1979, the first franchise was opened in Yakima, WA. Their headquarters are in Greenwood Village, CO, and there are now 570 restaurants as of 2020.
