25 Places to Find a Free Meal On Veterans Day

Veterans Day is a way to honor military veterans, no matter when they served. During that weekend, many places offer extra military discounts and some restaurants will offer a free meal. Here is a list of 25 places where you should be able to find a free meal either on Veterans day or during Veterans Day weekend.

Please keep in mind that some of these places haven’t announced their special for 2022, but since they have done so in the past there is a big chance they will do it again and would be worth checking closer to Veterans Day.

Places for Veterans to Get a Free Meal On Veterans Day

Applebee’s

Applebee’s, a family restaurant, is going to be offering a free meal to veterans and active duty members on Veterans Day. This will be at participating Applebee’s locations only. You would need to show proof of military service and there is a limit of one meal per qualifying person. This is for dine-in only.

Bob Evans

At Bob Evans, an American restaurant, they are offering a free meal on Friday, November 11, 2022. You can pick from a list of meals; the Country Biscuit Breakfast, Brioche French Toast, The Mini Sampler, Buttermilk Hotcakes, the Soup and Salad Combo, Mushroom and Onion Chopped Steak, and Country Fried Steak at all Bob Evans restaurants with proof of service.

Buffalo Wild Wings

At Buffalo Wild Wings, a sports bar chain, they should be offering Wings for Heroes on Veterans Day. You would be able to receive an order of 10 boneless wings and fries if you are an active or retired armed service member. This is for dine-in only and is limited to one per person.

California Pizza Kitchen

At California Pizza Kitchen, on Veterans Day, November 11, 2022, they will offer a complimentary non-alcoholic beverage + a choice of one entrée from their prix fixed menu. Dine-in only. They will also be partnering with DAV (Disabled American Veterans). 20% of all food and beverage purchase sales will be donated to DAV between November 7-9, 2022.

Chili’s

At Chili’s, a family-friendly chain, veterans and active duty military can choose from one of seven meals; Chicken Crispers®, Margarita Grilled Chicken, Soup & Salad, Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas, Just Bacon Burger, Oldtimer with Cheese, Cajun Chicken Pasta on Veterans Day. This offer is valid at all locations with proper ID for dine-in only.

Cracker Barrel

Cracker Barrel, a home-style restaurant, is offering veterans and active duty a free slice of double chocolate fudge Coca-Cola cake with purchase, both in-store and online with a code, VETSDAY22. Also, from November 1st through 14th, they are offering a 25% discount off everyday military appeals both in-store and online.

Denny’s

At Denny’s, a family diner, they have offered veterans a free Build Your Own Grand Slam at participating locations. This is for dine-in only for all U.S. military veterans.

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill

At Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, they have treated active military and veterans with a free lunch or dinner entree on Veterans Day. Show your military ID or wear your uniform. If you are with family or friends, the lesser value meal will be the complementary one. This is for dine-in only and is valid at participating restaurants.

Golden Corral

Golden Corral, an all-you-can-eat buffet, is offering a Military Appreciation night on Monday, November 14th,2022 as a thank you to veterans on Veterans Day. Anyone who has served in the US military, including retirees, veterans, active duty, national guard, and the reserves qualifies. The offer is not extended to family members. This is for dine-in only.

Hooters

Hooters, a sports bar, and grill have offered active duty and veterans a free entrée from the Hooters Veterans Day menu when they purchase a beverage. This is for dine-in only.

Huddle House

Huddle House, an American casual dinner, is offering a free order of Sweet Cakes to all active duty, retired, and veteran military members around Veterans Day with a valid military ID at all locations.

Hy-Vee

At Hy-Vee, which is a grocery store, they are offering free breakfast for veterans and active military members on Veterans Day from 6 am to 11 am. This is available at all stores with proper ID.

King’s Family Restaurant

At King’s Family Restaurant, a family restaurant, they have free meals for all veterans and active duty military members. You can choose from multiple options on their menu such as the Double Down Breakfast, Biscuits and Sausage Gravy, Kings Classic Burger, Hot Roasted Turkey Sandwich, or a Kings Meatloaf Dinner.

Krispy Kreme

At Krispy Kreme, a donut shop, they have offered military and veterans a free donut and small coffee.

Mission BBQ

Veterans eat free on Veterans Day at Mission BBQ. All veterans can get a free sandwich and a slice of cake at all Mission BBQ locations.

O’Charley’s

O’Charley’s is a casual dining restaurant that has offered a free meal to all veterans and service members for Veterans Day. You can order off of a $9.99 menu with an assortment of meals to choose from.

Olive Garden

At the Olive Garden, an Italian-style restaurant, they have given out free meals from their special Veterans Day menu, plus offered unlimited soup or salad and breadsticks. This is open to all military veterans and active duty military members.

On the Border

At On the Border, a Tex-Mex casual dining restaurant, they have offered a choice of free two or three combo meals to all active and retired military members. They have a wide variety of favorites to choose from.

Outback

At Outback, a steakhouse, you should be able to find a deal such as being able to have a free Bloomin’ Onion and beverage. Family members might also find a discount as well as anyone with a military ID for a certain amount of time. Veterans who show proof of service can get this deal.

Red Lobster

At Red Lobster, a seafood restaurant, they are offering either a free appetizer or dessert from a special menu. This is for veterans, active duty, and reservists. You would need to show your military ID or other proof of service.

Red Robin

At Red Robin, an American casual dining restaurant, they are offering a free Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries to all veterans and active duty military with proof of service. You must register for Red Robin Royalty by November 1st. The food will be added to your account to use between November 1-14th, 2021. For dine-in or to-go.

Shoney’s

At Shoney’s, a family restaurant, they are offering a free all you can care to eat, freshly prepared Breakfast Bar on Veterans Day.

Sizzler

Sizzler, an American restaurant, has offered veterans and active duty members of the military a free lunch on Veterans Day until 4 pm. You will need to show proof of military service. You will have a few choices to pick from including a side dish and beverage at participating locations. This is for dine-in only.

Starbucks

At Starbucks, a coffee shop, they have given veterans, active duty, and their spouses a free tall coffee. Limit to one per customer.

Texas Roadhouse

Texas Roadhouse, a steakhouse, has offered a complimentary meal to military members. They usually offer this between 11 am and 2 pm on Veterans Day. You can receive free iced tea, soft drink or coffee, and one meal from a special menu.

TGI Fridays

TGI Fridays is an American casual dining restaurant that usually offers a free lunch menu item up to $12 from 11 am to 2 pm local time over Veterans Day. They also sometimes will give a $5 coupon for your next meal. This is for dine-in only.

 

As you can see you have a ton of options to find a free meal on Veterans Day around the country.
