USAG Fort Greely
U.S. Army Garrison Fort Greely is responsible for “Midcourse Missile Defense” and supports the Cold Regions Test Center. The fort is remotely located, closest to the town of Big Delta also known as Delta Junction, Alaska. The largest city in the area is Fairbanks, about 100 miles away. Delta Junction is home to about 1,000 people. When weather allows, many travel to Fairbanks or even Anchorage for city amenities.
The backdrop at USAG Fort Greely is mountainous and unique. Due to the location, extreme conditions can apply. The winter has only four hours of daylight, and in the summer the sun almost never sets, presenting one-of-a-kind conditions for military training.

USAG Fort Greely Temporary Lodging
USAG Fort Greely’s Temporary Lodgings are located in Buildings 801 and 702, Fort Greely Family and MWR Recreational Lodging. The facility has 39 non-smoking rooms, with six pet-friendly rooms available. Because the temporary lodgings facility is located on base, there is ample access to stores, restaurants and recreation.
Amenities at the temporary lodgings facility include internet and cable TV, laundry facility, refrigerators, coffee makers, microwave access and continental breakfast. Call (907) 873-4795 during regular business hours for reservations.
USAG Fort Greely Child Care
USAG Fort Greely has multiple child care options depending on the age of the child. Children ages six weeks to five years old can attend the accredited Child Development Center in building 847 for full-time, part-time and hourly care in a stimulated and balanced environment.
To register, bring the child’s immunization records, health records, and income documentation as fees are income-based.
For older students up to 12 years old, register for School Age Care in building 847. For after school care or care for older students, the Youth Center is an option in building 653 for care.

When appearing for check-in and in-processing at Fort Greely, arrive in uniform with medical and dental records in hand. Upon check-in, in-processing instructions including orientation information will be given in addition to meals and billeting information. Housing options on base at Fort Greely are privatized. Winn Companies-North Haven Communities are in charge of the on-base housing community. Apartments are available on site with two to four bedrooms, washer/dryer connections and heated garages. Community amenities include a swimming pool, sauna and recreation equipment for children.
