Discounts to Use This Memorial Day Weekend for Military & Veterans

Memorial Day is a time to honor all those who have served and lost their lives for our country. We take the day to think about the friends and family we have lost, pray for their loved ones, and remember their sacrifice.

For many people, Memorial Day weekend is also the beginning of summer. This is when pools might open for the season when you know you can put away any of your cold-weather clothing, and you might be able to find some discounts to use, either military or non-military-related.

Here are some discounts we have found to use this Memorial Day weekend.

Food Discounts for Memorial Day

Cracker Barrel

At Cracker Barrel, you can sometimes find a regular military discount. Memorial Day has traditionally kicked off special deals and refreshments such as the Rocket Pop Mimosa and their Signature Southern Fried Chicken Meal Basket.

Firebirds Wood Fire Grill

In the past, Firebirds has offered a Treat a Hero special where when you dine with an active duty member, a veteran, or a Gold Star family member, they will receive a free meal on Memorial Day. We could find no mention of the promotion on the official site at press time, but show your military ID when dining and ask if the promotion is available.

Fuddrucker’s

Fuddrucker’s maintains a list of locations on its official site that may offer a military discount.

Joe’s Crab Shack

Joe’s Crab Shack offers 15% off to US military members and veterans on Memorial Day.

Kona Grill

Participating Kona Grill locations may offer up to 20% to active duty, veterans, and first responders in honor of Memorial Day.

Outback Steakhouse

10% off with military ID.

Pie Five Pizza

Participating locations have offered discounted or free pizza to members of the military, veterans, and retired military on Memorial Day. This pizza joint offers many of its discounts online via its Pie Five Instagram account.

Sonic Drive-In

Participating locations may offer discounts or freebies for military members on Memorial Day.

TGI Fridays

In the past TGI Fridays offered a 25% off on all family meals and plates during the Memorial Day weekend. At press time there are no announcements for the current Memorial Day promotion but check the official site for updates.

Fun Places to Go with Memorial Day Discounts

Cincinnati Zoo

The Cincinnati Zoo offers free military admission on Memorial Day for both active and retired military. You can also purchase up to six half-price admission tickets for members of their immediate family. You must show your military ID at the zoo.

Colonial Williamsburg

Colonial Williamsburg is a historical experience for your entire family in Williamsburg, Virginia. They are a part of the Blue Star Museum program and offer complimentary admission “once annually for Active-duty Military, Reservists, National Guard Personnel, Retired military and veterans and up to three direct dependents,” according to the official site.

Reid Park Zoo

Reid Park Zoo, in Tucson, AZ, welcomes veterans, active duty, and their families as well as families of deployed military into the zoo with a special discount on Memorial Day.

Silverwood Theme Park

Silverwood is located in Athol, ID, and is having an American Heroes’ weekend on May 25th, 26th, and 27th 2024 for all military personnel, veterans, police officers, firefighters, and EMS. You will receive free admission and a discounted rate for immediate family members.

SunSplash Family Waterpark

SunSplash, located in Cape Coral, FL, offers one free single-day admission for active or retired military and disabled veterans on Memorial Day.

Furniture & Retail Memorial Day Discounts

Academy Sports

Academy Sports typically offers 10% off between May 1st-July 4th. You must verify your military affiliation through ID.me for online purchases or show your military ID when shopping in person. The discount is not valid on certain products and is for active duty, reserve members, the national guard, retired and discharged veterans, as well as their spouses and children.

Article

At Article, where you can buy sofas, chairs, tables, and more, they are having a Memorial Day sale.

Avocado Green Mattress

At Avocado Green Mattress, you can find a 5% military discount. Verify with ID.me.

JCPenney

JCPenney offers clothing, home decor, and more and is having a Memorial Day sale.

Pier 1

Pier 1, which offers furniture and home decor, is having a Memorial Day sale.

Rack Room Shoes

Rack Room Shoes normally offers a 10% military discount on Tuesdays, but on Memorial Day, military customers received 20% off.

Sleep Number

Sleep Number typically has a Memorial Day sale where you may save up t 50% off on select items.

Walgreens & Duane Reade

Show military ID or proof of service to eceive 20% off regularly priced products at any Walgreens or Duane Reade drugstore nationwide. The myWalgreens customer loyalty platform membership is free and can be obtained at checkout. Restrictions may apply.
